NEW GENRES COLLECTIVE

DOMICILE - NEW GENRES COLLECTIVE - 2018

DATE /// June 8, 2018

LOCATION /// CURRENTS NEW MEDIA FESTIVAL, Santa Fe, NM

ABOUT DOMICILE /// "Domicile" is a multimedia performance with light, shadow, video projection and sound on the theme of home. Inside an inflatable dome the collective engages in a ‘media jam’. This is a framework the collective often works with: we choose a theme, gather footage, create instruments and audio, construct an installation/performance space, then perform.

The concept of the inflatable dome is a reference to our place of origin, Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design. The geodesic dome is a symbol of the school and its roots in communal experimentation (i.e.- "Drop City"). Thematically, we will be using "home" as inspiration for content. The inflatable will operate as an extension of the school and become a place to incubate creative concepts and thought through experimental performance.
