LUCID PERFORMANCE - NEW GENRES COLLECTIVE - 2017
ABOUT THE NEW GENRES COLLECTIVE /// The NGC is essentially a school club comprised of student designers and artists at RMCAD although, given our focus on collaboration, we identify as a collective. The collective was founded by instructors, Jeff Page, Tobias Fike and student, Alex Killgore. This collective is technically for RMCAD students only although we regularly collaborate with outside artists and organizations for every project.
DATE /// October 19, 2017
LOCATION /// RMCAD, Mary Harris Auditorium, Denver, CO
ABOUT THE LUCID PERFORMANCE /// For this event, the New Genres Collective took over the Mary Harris Auditorium on the campus of RMCAD for one hour on a Thursday evening. Inspired by the Lynchian aesthetic of the auditorium, the NGC pursued the simple task of creating a dream-like, droned-out affect to the room through video, performative presence, light/shadow play and sound (by Ryan Mcryhew). Much of this night was very improvisational and experimental. You can view stills below.
